Description
The Unit Resource Nurse IV is responsible for providing all aspects of clinical care while providing effective and appropriate communication to ensure the optimal patient experience possible. Assignments will include but are not limited to admission, transfer, discharge, meal/break relief and other duties as assigned. Quality Care Model The key components of the Quality Caring Model (QCM) and 8 Caring Factors are interwoven throughout the delivery of care within nursing. |

Department Specific Competencies |
Proficient in monitoring and circulating in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, structural heart, and EP device and ablation procedures Knowledge of coronary and peripheral vascular anatomy and intervention Ability to operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment (i.e. IVUS, OCT, Merge, FFR/iFR) Proficient with hemodynamic monitoring, waveform interpretation, and pressure analysis Competent in sterile technique and procedure room setup Ability to scrub, circulate, and monitor in a high-acuity setting Responds effectively to emergent situations: STEMI, coronary/ventricular perforation, tamponade, code blue, acute MI, etc. Administers emergency drugs and manages ACLS protocols Quick recognition and escalation of rhythm changes or hemodynamic instability Familiar with crash cart contents and defibrillator use Participates in timeouts, maintains situational awareness during high-risk cases Prepares, administers, and documents high-risk medications (i.e. heparin, adenosine, nitroglycerin, contrast media, sedation agents) - Knowledge of anticoagulants, antiplatelets, sedation, pain medications and their reversal
Ability to perform thorough pre-procedure assessments and post-procedure recovery (including sheath management, access site monitoring) Accurately completes documentation in EMR Communicates effectively with MDs, anesthesia, imaging, recovery Collaborates with Lead RN to plan staff meal and break periods, provides coverage - Maintains daily readiness of lab (supply, equipment, QA checks)
