| Under general supervision, provides complex administrative and patient scheduling services for the Structural Heart Program. |
Core Competencies |
- Communicates effectively and emphatically in all interpersonal interaction including follow up
- Answers telephone calls courteously within 4 rings, identifies self and department, ascertains needs and routes/communicates to the appropriate person.
- Greets patients and ensures they are taken care of in a timely manner.
- Maintains clinical databases for clinical staff
- Maintains site specific packets with education and ancillary service brochures/information.
- Participates in organizing, filing and or scanning all information in the patient’s medical chart.
- Creates dashboard and statistical reports as needed
- Orders forms, business cards, office supplies as needed
- Reviews referrals on a weekly basis with clinical staff or more frequently depending on urgency
- Obtains the necessary information for patient referrals, including demographics, reason for referral, physician information and urgency of appointment
- Schedules patient appointments according to department guidelines and demonstrates an understanding of the procedures being scheduled, the preparation and a basic knowledge of what the procedure will entail and authorization requirements.
- Validates patient eligibility, benefits and medical group affiliation as well as obtaining insurance information and notification as needed
- Completes registration and check in
- Assists patients with completing Release of Information and Request for Information forms.
- Performs all aspects of medical records functions when needed, including but not limited to the requesting and receiving pertinent medical information, eg previous records, hospital records, radiology images, pathology slides, consults, tests and reports for the patients’ medical chart
- Assists in coordination of weekly structural heart conferences.

Compensation Range:
$24.05- $35.57 / hour
