Description

Under the direction of the medical center's Engineering Supervisor/Manager of Building Maintenance, the Maintenance Mechanic Plumber is responsible for maintaining, repairing, upgrading, and inspecting a variety of systems throughout the medical center.

Core Competencies

Performs all duties of Building Maintenance Mechanic II when assigned building maintenance duties. During LEAK Protocol situations, will be responsible for communicating the status and outcomes with all the affected areas by email, phone and texting updates. Ensures understanding of TMMC fire, disaster, and safety procedures as outlined in fire, safety, and disaster manuals. Knows personal role in case of emergencies during the assigned shift. Follows all safety procedures as set forth in the Engineering policy and procedure manual. Coordinates job activities with the appropriate department personnel Demonstrates the ability to train and mentor department staff on all tasks and responsibilities outlined in the Maintenance Mechanic I and II job descriptions. Introduces self and requests permission to enter before entering private areas Ability to independently complete complex plumbing repairs while effectively collaborating and communicating with multiple tradesmen to ensure projects and repairs meet TMMC standards.
