Description
Under the direct supervision of s Facilities Supervisor, the Dispatch Operator is responsible for monitoring security and alarm systems throughout the facility; receiving requests and processing information for the department; placing and directing work orders to appropriate personnel; preparing and sending a wide variety of documents and reports for the department; maintaining the Facilities computer data systems in a current and accurate state at all times; maintaining an organized work area; involvement in controlling vendors presence in the medical center; maintaining computer data input for continuous performance improvement information and preparation of reports; maintaining record keeping and files for permits and a wide variety of documents. |

- Contacts security personnel via radio or beeper for medical center and off site facility security services/requests.
- Dispatches Tram Driver to pick up areas.
- Logs all phone and radio activity on dispatch log.
- Monitors various alarms such as duress, infant security, fire alarm panel, medical gas, and off site fire and burglar.
- Practices event reporting accurately and timely.
- Receives work orders requests, dispatches request to Engineers and enters information into the computer.
- Takes lead role in the event of a disaster, as unit 0/Base.
- Tests ED duress alarms when authorized by ED staff.
- Trains others on Dispatch functions.
- Produces daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports reflecting contract (maintenance agreement) status, parking tickets information, equipment preventive maintenance and work order status, rental equipment information, pending work status, departmental expenses, project information, invoice/financial figures, phone usage, detailed cost analysis, tube system history, event reporting status (problem and progress follow up), and various other reports as needed.
- Maintains record keeping and filing.
- Creates new forms when needed by the department.
- Duplicates documentation for department personnel.
- Maintains a professional and orderly office appearance.
- Prepares letters, memos and reports as needed.
- Receives and distributes mail and fax documents.
