Description
Under the general supervisor of the Manager, Refurbishment & POSS, the Construction Project Coordinator assists with the management of construction and refurbishment activities at Torrance Memorial Medical Center representing the interests of the medical center. Maintains project portfolio across Refurbishment, POSS and coordination of construction projects transitioning including timeline, budget, expenditures, maintenance and long-range planning. |
Core Competencies |
- Investigates project requests, documents the scope of work, establishes cost estimates and prepares project package or administrative review.
- Prepares Pre-Construction Risk Assessments (PCRA) and reviews project work details with the appropriate parties, obtains their authorization to proceed with work. Distributes a communication email to interested parties before the project commences.
- Oversees project activities in the field to ensure the parameters set forth within the PCRA are being maintained. Addresses any deficiencies with the project superintendent, advises Manager and provides documentation when necessary.
- Coordinates construction activities with the general contractor and others according to plans.
- Assists with tasks pertaining to department relocations.
- Assists with developing furniture specifications for purchasing, coordinates department deliveries to avoid operational disruptions.
- Evaluates conditions related to capital equipment requests and establishes the requirements for facility modifications. Provides a budget for review by the Capital Equipment Committee.
- Interfaces with the City as necessary regarding Construction Permitting issues. Assist with ensuring construction site is in satisfactory condition for inspections.
- Interfaces with the IOR as necessary regarding OSHPD issues. Assists with ensuring construction site is in satisfactory condition for inspections.
- Prioritizes multiple projects and deals with complex timelines.
- Provides project budgets and timelines for completion as requested.
- Updates Manager regularly regarding priorities and status of projects.
- Containment knowledge and set up. Coordinates with infection prevention.
- Creates work permits and keeps them up to date. Provides timelines.
- Gathers necessary data sheets for HCAI submittals
