We are Now Hiring a Human Resources Generalist 

The HR Generalist assists the Director of Compliance with specializing in the Company’s workers compensation program. The WCS documents, reports and processes all workers compensation claims, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation. This position acts as the subject matter expert on HR policies and legislative provisions and continuously liaises with assigned third-party adjuster (TPA), insurance company, state workers compensation agencies and return to work program partner in the administration of claims and in the care and disposition of claimants.

Pay Range: $50,000 - $60,000


  • Manages day-to-day functions of workers’ compensation program (60%)
    • Reviews and evaluates all work-related incident reports for completeness and clarity of data to ensure timely claims processing in compliance with internal policies/protocols and state requirements
    • Provides appropriate and necessary documentation to TPA and state workers’ compensation agencies consisting of, but not limited to, the following:  Incident investigation reports, wage statements, job descriptions, and, work status reports.  
    • Notifies TPA and state workers’ compensation agencies if/when a claim is deemed to be questionable, and, should be immediately investigated.
    • Conducts periodic and ongoing reviews of claims to identify early return to work opportunities
    • Coordinates with TPA, state workers compensation agencies and client partners to monitor and assess the progress of rehabilitation efforts and to facilitate return to work opportunities (when applicable)
  •  Serves as primary point of contact for TPA, state workers’ compensation agencies, managers and team members with questions concerning workers' compensation claim submittal, benefits, medical treatment, etc.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and facilitation of internal policies and procedures and training related to workers’ compensation and safety
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of workers' compensation updates and best practices used to effectively manage, assess, and track work-related injuries
  •  Analyzes claims data and identifies trends through reporting (30%)
    • Through use of Risktrac, analyzes claims/loss trends (by regions, types of injuries, causes of loss) and provides practical recommendations to mitigate claims/losses and/or other claims data reports; designs and develops internal databases, performs integrated data analyses
    • Designs, analyzes and distributes recurring monthly reports on workers' compensation data including: claim counts, total incurred costs, lag time, return to work, nurse line usage, DART and TIR analysis, etc.
  •  Liaises with Safety Manager regarding Safety & Loss Prevention  
  • Participates in strategic planning focused on identifying trends, improving safety procedures and reducing the occurrence of worker's compensation-related injuries
  • Participates in compiling, maintaining, analyzing and reporting injury statistical information (e.g. OSHA logs, DART and TIR analysis).


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of previous experience in human resources or similar field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. Detail-oriented, takes initiative and completes tasks independently.
  • Ability to handle and maintain sensitive/confidential information with tact, courtesy, diplomacy and discretion.
  • Strong customer service focus, well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of people across divisions.
  • Must be able to prioritize and make recommendations to effectively resolve issues by using judgment consistent with all applicable authorities, including organizational policies and procedures.
  • General knowledge of multi-state OSHA and employment laws
