Financial Reporting Specialist (m/f) - permanent contract, full-time 

Job Purpose:

The Financial Reporting Specialist reports into the Chief Financial Officer TME and closely collaborates with TM HCCI Finance centralized teams as follows:
-  with International Finance Operations in London and across the branch network providing support on closing activities and a robust control environment
-  International FP&A, Legal Entity Reporting and Taxation providing analysis and reporting support.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory reporting of TME
• Participate at month and quarter end close and ensure timely completion in collaboration with International Finance Operations team 
• Oversee Benelux credit control activities 
• Ensure adherence to all Corporate policies, procedures and internal control framework within Finance
• Provide support during the statutory audit and coordinate with local external audit team
• Supporting the TME CFO in and continual improvement initiatives and projects
• Effective team management, providing training where required

The scope includes TME and branches in Continental Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting and Finance
• Liaise with the Legal Entity Reporting team in London and participate in the preparation of the statutory and regulatory reporting of TME and ensure timely submission
• Ensure records are kept in accordance with Luxembourg Accounting principles and other Group accounting standards (as considered necessary)
• Ensure adherence to the Corporate accounting policy
• Perform BS and PL analysis to monitor and understand monthly and quarterly variances  
• Participate in the monthly and quarterly close in collaboration with International Finance Operations team
• Provide support to TME CFO to ensure that all internal controls and accounting policies set locally and by the Group are consistently applied and adhered to and ensure efficient cooperation with the finance function in London and TME branches

Compliance & Audit
• Ensure adherence to all Corporate policies and procedures
• Ensure retention of all financial records meets local regulatory and Group requirements 
• Provide support during the statutory audit and coordinate with local external audit teams (as needed)

Credit control
• Oversee Benelux credit control activities and ensure timely execution of assigned tasks
• Ensure that harmonized and centralized reports are produced to monitor TME debtors
• Review Benelux reports before presentation to relevant business partners

Coordinate with the tax team and:
• Ensure and facilitate reconciliation of tax balances 
• Ensure timely payment of tax balances in coordination with the tax team

Team Management
In collaboration with the CFO:
• Oversee the Credit Controller for Belgium and Netherlands 
• Responsible for conducting appraisals and objective setting for any direct reports
• Provide additional training on technical areas as required.

Skills and Experience Specification
Essential Essential 
• Professional accountancy qualification (Qualified Accountant) or accounting degree 5-7 years working experience
• Knowledge of LUX GAAP and Solvency II
• Insurance industry experience
• Strong analytical review capabilities and ability to concisely communicate results of analysis undertaken
• Previous experience in similar function
• Strong Excel skills
• Fluent in English

• Big 4 accounting firm background
• French
• German
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Microstrategy and/or and other similar tools.
