Cyber Portfolio Performance Lead

The Tokio Marine HCC – Cyber & Professional Lines Group is seeking a self-motivated, detailed orientated Cyber Portfolio Performance Lead to join our growing Cyber Department.

The Cyber Portfolio Performance Lead is part of the cyber underwriting team and works closely with cyber underwriting leadership to monitor and optimize portfolio performance. This is a great opportunity for someone currently working in a financial analysis or actuarial capacity to expand their skillsets and knowledge into the cyber underwriting environment.

Do you have experience in the following:

  • Experience with financial planning and analysis in a property & casualty insurance operation, or
  • Actuarial experience in a property & casualty insurance operation or working as a consultant providing actuarial services to property & casualty insurers.

This role is responsible for the following assignments:

  • Reviews key performance indicators (new business quote ratio/hit ratio, policy count retention, premium retention) by sector and size segment across the cyber insurance portfolio, including open market, portal, and API, and makes monthly adjustment recommendations
  • Monitors loss ratio performance and makes recommendations relative to risk appetite, pricing, capacity management, and self-insured retention levels
  • Works with Cyber Threat Intelligence and Cyber Claims to derive useful portfolio insights and apply learnings to the underwriting framework
  • Assists with the preparation of executive presentation materials
  • Works with the corporate actuarial team on cyber-related projects, including predictive analytics and catastrophe modeling
  • Reviews portfolio reinsurance structures relative to loss trends and portfolio performance
  • Researches cyber insurance trends and conducts market analyses
  • Assists in financial budgeting, reforecasting, and other financial projections
  • Maintains established reports for internal needs
  • Provides analytics support for portfolio initiatives and projects

Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or related fields
  • Relevant professional designations preferred (CPA, CFA, FCAS, CPCU, etc.) 

Experience

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in financial or actuarial analysis, data modeling, informatics, and analysis
  • Insurance/reinsurance experience required; cyber insurance experience preferred
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is New York, NY, Mount Kisco, NY, and California locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $107,100 – 147,400 annually.
