Stop Loss, a $2 Billion division within TMHCC, leads the way in providing medical stop loss insurance sold to employers. Medical Stop Loss provides an added layer of insurance protection to employers who choose to self-fund their health benefit plans. Self-funding can incur risks from catastrophic claims, and Medical Stop Loss insurance from Tokio Marine HCC is designed to protect employers from that risk.  
About the Role:
Supervises the activities of the Claim Specialists and Claim Analysts with processing reinsurance claims.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and maintain relationships with commutation auditors, Accounting department, brokers, third-party administrators (TPA's), account representatives, legal, etc.
  • Review monthly or quarterly bordereau reporting for account analysis.
  • Compile reports and spreadsheets for ongoing account management.
  • Travel and assist in claim audits according to the needs of the department.
  • Analyze information from the claim audits and prepare a written audit report. Discuss audit results with the Underwriting, Accounting, and Tokio Marine HCC management.
  • Maintain account and claim diaries.
  • Periodic reconciliation of pending claim caseload and that of direct reports.
Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:
  • 4 year Bachelors degree in Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent education/experience
  • 10 years relevant experience in area of specialization
  • 6 years leadership experience
  • Possess and have ability to apply advanced knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
