About the role:
You will be part of Metadata engineering team mainly located in Bangalore with some SMEs in US. As Sr Principal engineer, you will have the technical owndership of all current and future architectures and solutions in data pipeline. You will be responsibily for designing, approving technical architecturs and solutions for various components in the piepleine. You will get to work on some complex large data problems, solutioning new requirements, at times working on a POC to find best E2E architecture.
Your role will also require mentorship of technical leaders and team members.
What you will get to do:
- Learn, support, refactor and evolve existing corporate metadata pipeline processes.
- Design and implement new high-quality, scalable, and secure software architectures.
- Research and analyze potential solutions, create proof of concepts and be hands-on when necessary
- Utilize on-prem and cloud services effectively to build, deploy, and manage applications.
- Maintain and enhance data architectures, ensuring efficient handling of big data.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to - understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and to help create technical solutions
- Accurately size and estimate resources required to implement technical projects, in terms of time, resources, and budget.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team, both junior and senior.
- Conduct architectural reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, and deployment.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and incorporate them into the architecture where appropriate.
- Oversee the administrative aspects of the software architecture, including documentation, performance monitoring, and optimization.
- Troubleshoot and understand system bottlenecks, failures, and inefficiencies and provide guidance for continuous improvement.
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 20+ years of experience in Software development. 5+ years in architecture and systems design
- Significant experience of working in and designing large scale data processing systems
- Solid understanding of Data Modelling using a variety of databases (MSSQL, MySql, Mongo, Postgres)
- Experience designing application systems in both AWS and on-prem environments
- Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments using Java, Python, c# and .Net
- General understanding of containerized development using Docker and Kubernetes
- Able to take on problems with a minimum set of clearly defined requirements and articulate alternative solutions and approaches to solve the problem
- Highly motivated and able to coordinate with people in remote locations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, adaptable and proactive.
- Experience integrating off the shelf tools into ecosystem (Message Queues, Elastic Search, ETL Ingestion Tools)
- Excellent communication and written skills
