About the Role
We are looking for a Software Tester to join our Quality Assurance team and support the testing and validation of embedded software running on device‑based products. This role is well suited for candidates early in their career who are eager to gain hands‑on experience with embedded Linux environments, real consumer devices, and structured software testing practices in an international setting.
You will work closely with developers, senior QA engineers, and external partners to ensure product quality through thoughtful test execution, clear documentation, and continuous improvement of testing practices.
Responsibilities
Core
- Manage test devices and logistics, including setup, maintenance, tracking, and recovery
- Set up, maintain, and validate test environments for team‑owned software components
- Document test cases, test results, issues, and test methodologies clearly and consistently
- Execute manual test cases based on defined use cases, requirements, and test specifications
- Run certification and compliance tests, collect evidence, and summarize results
- Report defects with clear reproduction steps and track progress using issue‑tracking tools
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on test execution, results, and scheduling
Stretch
- Analyze test failures by reviewing logs, identifying patterns, and isolating root causes
- Support senior QA members in improving local test infrastructure and processes
- Gradually contribute to test automation efforts (e.g., scripting, framework enhancements)
- Explore new tools and approaches that improve testing efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BS degree in CS, EE, OR at least 2 years of relevant experience in software testing or quality validation
- Basic familiarity with Linux‑based environments
- Ability to communicate effectively in English within an international team
- Strong problem‑solving skills with experience analyzing logs and system behavior
- Detail‑oriented mindset with a strong focus on product quality and reliability
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast‑moving technical environment
Preferred
- Experience with TV, Set‑Top Box (STB), or similar embedded consumer devices
- Familiarity with engineering tools and workflows such as CI tools (e.g., Jenkins)
- Experience with or strong interest in Python‑based test automation frameworks
- Interest in applying AI or data‑driven approaches to improve testing, such as:
- Optimizing test planning and regression scope
- Generating or refining test cases
- Improving test results analysis and presentation
