This role supports daily accounting activities while delivering financial insights that inform operational and strategic decisions.
We’re looking for an analytical, detail-oriented professional with deep experience in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing workflows—ideally within a construction-adjacent or small-batch production setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost accounting and inventory management for modular manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate labor, material, and overhead allocation.
- Partner with factory leadership and project teams to evaluate job cost performance and recommend process improvements.
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and review sales and use tax filings; ensure compliance with multi-state tax regulations.
- Maintain accurate financial reporting and internal controls; support quarterly and annual audits.
- Prepare and analyze margin, cash flow, and cost trend reports to support leadership decision-making.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects.
- Support project-based accounting and administrative activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in manufacturing or cost accounting (small-batch, non-automated environments preferred).
- Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Viewpoint Vista, Power BI, or Prophix is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed environment.
- CPA or CMA preferred, but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $94,000 – $115,000 (commensurate with experience and geographic location)
- Annual performance-based bonus
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off, holidays, and parental leave
- Professional development support
- A collaborative, mission-driven culture rooted in integrity, trust, and innovation
