Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Software Engineer to support the provisioning, automation, and release management of high-performance computing (HPC) systems. The candidate will implement CI/CD pipelines, apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, and support containerized environments while adhering to Dev/Sec/Ops best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use Linux CLI and Linux tools to manage and maintain HPC systems.
  • Develop Bash and Python scripts to automate provisioning of HPC systems.
  • Apply release management best practices, including versioning, automation, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and release software using one or more programming languages.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI, or CircleCI.
  • Apply IaC principles using automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Support Dev/Sec/Ops processes and related FOSS toolchains.
  • Manage containerized environments using Docker and Containerd.
  • Utilize Git for source control and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) for project tracking and collaboration.
  • Work in Agile and Scrum environments for project management and team collaboration.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in computer science or related field
  • Proven experience with Linux system administration and scripting (Bash/Python).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, release management, and Dev/Sec/Ops best practices.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Containerd) and IaC automation tools (Ansible).
  • Experience with Git source control and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with HPC system provisioning and management.
  • Familiarity with multiple CI/CD tools such as Travis CI or CircleCI.
  • Knowledge of Dev/Sec/Ops toolchains and security automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • This position involves sedentary work with physical requirements expected for at least 50% of the time. Essential functions include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and talking.
