Position Description:
We are seeking a motivated and technically proficient Systems Engineer to provide engineering and technical support. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple technologies and stakeholders.
This role requires hands-on technical expertise, familiarity with federal standards, and strong communication skills to support the design, documentation, and deployment that align with Zero Trust principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering and technical support for ICAM and Zero Trust implementation initiatives
- Support architecture and design efforts for ICAM systems, including integration across RESTful APIs, SSO (OAuth, SAML), and containerized platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture requirements, assess technologies, and develop ICAM solutions that align with DoD Zero Trust mandates
- Create and maintain technical documentation including:
- System architecture/design documents
- Installation guides, SOPs, user guides, and release notes
- Planning documents and strategy papers
- Assist with configuring system components (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, NiFi)
- Research evolving technologies and provide advisory documentation to support ICAM enhancements and deployment planning
- Support risk assessments and risk mitigation planning
- Interface with capability teams to ensure interoperability and adherence to security policies and standards
Required Technical Knowledge
- Experience with a mix of technologies such as:
- REST, JSON, XML
- Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
- Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
- NiFi, OAuth, SAML
- Familiarity with Zero Trust initiatives
- Strong understanding of system integration and deployment strategies
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and identify areas for technical improvement
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with PKI, authentication systems, and identity management
- Understanding of high-availability and scalable deployments across multiple service centers or cloud zones
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and security best practices
- Background in software development or software lifecycle methodologies
- Knowledge of vulnerability management, application/security testing, and system hardening
- Experience working with Confluence, JIRA, and collaborative documentation tools
- Strong communication and documentation skills; able to brief both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to lead or participate in meetings, technical discussions, and system reviews
- Experience developing content for program reviews and technical strategy documents
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to operate with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must hold an active clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- 7-15+ years of professional experience
