Thompson Thrift is on the hunt for an Assistant Controller for our corporate office in Indianapolis, IN! As Assistant Controller, you'll leverage your extensive knowledge of accounting principles to drive excellence in our accounting operations, manage project costing, perform insightful financial analyses, and oversee treasury functions—all while ensuring we uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency!

What You’ll Do:
- Assisting with the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
- Preparing financial statements and filings in compliance with GAAP.
- Assisting in ad hoc analyses of finances and preparation of reports to facilitate decision making.
- Administering internal controls and auditing of policies and procedures meant to preserve assets.
- Taking part in the budgeting process and executing financial terms accordingly.
- Taking care of all financial aspects of the company such as preparation of salaries accounts, expenses accounts, income account and all other financial accounts.
Our Ideal Candidate for This Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field of study. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience in the same or similar industry.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the financial laws and regulations of the company.
- Expert-level knowledge in one or more areas of finance or accounting.
- Strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and lead subordinate team members.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
