Internship Opportunity: Technology Support Intern
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Thompson Thrift is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy intern for the Summer 2025 internship program. This role will provide hands-on experience in IT support, assisting our team in maintaining efficient operations within our Information Technology environment.
What You'll Do:
As a Technology Support Intern, you will provide in-house and remote help desk assistance to staff, supporting their daily technological needs:
- Assist with technical support for incoming queries related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Help set up and manage devices across various platforms (Windows, iOS, MacOS, Android).
- Participate in maintaining the daily performance of computer systems.
- Support the installation and setup of network peripheral devices such as printers and scanners.
- Help develop user process documentation for hardware and software.
- Aid in identifying and resolving basic technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
- Collect feedback from team members about their computer usage and issues.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of company-owned computers, equipment, and software.
- Assist in computer and equipment setup.
- Support the daily management of the Help Desk ticketing system.
- Other duties, as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Familiarity with IT concepts through coursework, certifications, or relevant experience.
- Basic understanding of hardware, software, and networking principles.
- Comfortable with Microsoft 365 applications; knowledge of MacOS and iOS is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
