Summer 2025 Internship: Capital Markets Intern 

Location: Indianapolis

 

Looking for a summer internship that will kickstart your career in real estate and finance? Thompson Thrift is seeking a Capital Markets Intern to join our corporate team in Indianapolis, IN for summer 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with our Capital Markets team, gaining hands-on experience in equity capital planning and investment partner relations.

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Support Capital Markets: Assist in managing investment partner networks, tracking commitments, and preparing materials for meetings.
  • Data Management: Work within Yardi Investment Manager to maintain accurate Limited Partnership data and ensure seamless operations.
  • Partner Engagement: Communicate with investment partners, helping with onboarding and addressing their needs promptly.
  • Project Involvement: Contribute to the coordination of investor meetings and special projects, while assisting the Vice President of Capital Markets.
  • Process Improvement: Help draft and maintain Capital Markets policies, and participate in various business development tasks.

 

What You Bring: 

  • Education: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office 365 and a strong aptitude for learning new software.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data management and project coordination.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Passion for Real Estate: A genuine interest in real estate development and capital markets.

About the Program: 

Our full-time, 12-week internship program runs from May to August and is designed to offer you hands-on experience, meaningful connections, and significant growth opportunities:

  • Executive Engagement:
    • Meet and Greet with our CEOs and Owners, John Thompson & Paul Thrift.
    • Intentional exposure to Executives, Business Unit Leaders, and Senior Leadership.
  • Professional Development:
    • Peer Panel Discussions with recent college graduates to gain insights on transitioning to full-time roles.
    • Networking Opportunities with former interns who have successfully transitioned into full-time positions.
    • Mock Presentations to enhance your public speaking and presentation skills.
    • Final Presentation opportunity to showcase your work to fellow interns, executives, teams, and owners.
  • Hands-On Experience:
    • Site Visit to a multifamily residential property to see projects in action.
    • Participation in the TT Intern Serve event, collaborating with a local partner to positively impact our community.
    • Cross-departmental meetings to understand the various facets of Thompson Thrift’s operations.
