Thompson Thrift is seeking a Senior Development Manager to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of commercial real estate projects, from build-to-suit retail and industrial spaces to large-scale mixed-use developments. The Senior Development Manager will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, from acquisition and site design to permitting, construction, and completion.

Your Role as Senior Development Manager:
The Senior Development Manager will be responsible for taking our commercial real estate projects from concept to completion. Capable of handling a variety of commercial projects from build to suit retail and industrial projects to large mixed-use projects. Participates with team members on acquisition, city/county coordination, site and building design, permitting, design meetings, construction administration and acts as the representative of the owner. This position will be responsible for preparation site investigation reports, cost at completion reports, project status reports and maintaining project files. The successful candidate will have knowledge of real estate transactions, general contracting methods, be detail oriented and purpose driven to set and meet deadlines.
Our Ideal Candidate for This Role:
- Bachelor's Degree required in Project Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in a real estate or commercial project management position.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to relate well across the organization and with clients.
- Excellent analytical/problem solving skills are needed.
- Knowledge of real estate transactions.
- Computer literate with experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project and Procore.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Detail oriented, purpose driven.
- Able to set and meet deadlines.
What You’ll Do:
- Preliminary conceptual site planning.
- Overall project coordination to hand off for construction.
- Soft cost budgeting.
- Development schedule.
- Due diligence, title, ALTA, phase I/II, geotech.
- Full entitlements.
- Civil and architectural design plans.
- Full permitting.
- Organize/maintain project files.
- Other duties as assigned.
