Job Description
Thompson Thrift Construction is seeking an Office Project Engineer to assist our Project Managers on our projects around the country. This is an entry-level position with tremendous opportunities for advancement into a Project Manager position. This individual will work closely with the Project Manager and will help coordinate all tasks associated with ground-up and tenant finish-out construction.
Such tasks include: Scheduling and management of subcontractors and suppliers, punch list management, invoices and other documents, quality control, safety as well as budget and other project financial review.
Qualifications
A degree in Construction Management or related degree is required
Prior construction experience of 1+ years is required
Experience in multifamily construction is preferred
Strong communication skills
Ability to problem solve and multi-task

Schedule and Travel

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Travel Requirement: 30%

Job requires team member to be mobile; frequently lifting 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds. The duties of the job require the frequent use of hand and fingers to type, reach, grasp, and handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. In addition, it requires the ability to stand, climb, stoop, kneel crouch, crawl, and navigate uneven surfaces. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Job duties require the physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, work above ground level on construction hoists, ability to climb ladders, negotiate work areas under construction, and maintain balance and equilibrium to prevent falling. Job frequently involves exposure to dust, fumes, odors, heavy machinery, machinery with moving parts, scaffolding and high places, and noise (must shout to be heard).
