Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a Mobile Equipment Operator to join our growing team. As a Mobile Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, utilizing your skills and expertise to efficiently and safely operate heavy machinery. Pay range is $18.00-$24.00 per hour depending on experience. The Mobile Equipment Operator is responsible for maneuvering and managing various types of motorized heavy equipment. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of the equipment and safety procedures. The candidate will be responsible for performing all plant tasks that require the use of heavy mobile equipment and to do so safely and efficiently. To ensure success in this field, the following skills are needed – outstanding manual dexterity with excellent hand-eye coordination; a sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines; the ability to provide and follow directions; sharp decision-making skills; and the ability to work under pressure
Schedule: Mon-Fri- 6:00am-2:30pm (with possible overtime and some weekends- will be notified in advance of OT/weekend work)
Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-operation inspections on assigned equipment to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Operate the equipment within established standard safety guidelines.
- Moving and loading reinforced concrete pipe using a minimum 15,000 lb. up to 80,000 lb. forklift.
- Work as a team to ensure tasks are completed and on schedule.
- Communicate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Participate in safety meetings and trainings.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a heavy equipment operator is a plus
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Able to multi-task and support multiple areas.
- Organized and able to maintain required documentation.
*Must past a pre-employment physical and drug test.
