Job Description - Quality Assurance Inspector General $21.00 per hour
This document is to explain the responsibility of the Quality Control Inspectors during regular product inspection and testing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection and testing in accordance with the requirements of the project specifications and as directed by the Quality Control
- Perform visual examination, non-destructive testing (NDT), and measurements of straight pipe sections, specials, and fittings in according with the appropriate procedure listed in the Quality Manual (QM) for concrete pipe. If an alternate procedure is specified by the project specifications, the specification requirements supersede the one listed in the
- Perform sampling of weld, concrete, cement-mortar lining, or coating, etc, as required by the project specifications or the applicable procedure of the QM and in the frequency specified in the project
- Perform inspection at each stage of manufacturing in accordance with the requirement of the project specification or the applicable standard and in the frequency
- Fill out and complete the necessary document pertaining to each inspection activity using the proper QA
- Identify product that does not satisfy requirements using appropriate markings / tags and prepare a non-conforming product report to initiate correction of the nonconformity and / or corrective action to prevent
- Coordinate with Third Party Inspectors and Customer Representatives any inspection or verification
- The products made at South Beloit are concrete pressure pipe and fittings in compliance with AWWA Standards and the project The requirements for the pipes are mainly covered in the Quality Manual but additional information is available in the AWWA Standards or the project specifications.
- Review project specifications and check requirements against AWWA Standards, procedures, or other QC documents. The requirements of the project specification may exceed these and therefore will supersede their requirements.
- Complete inspection and test reports before checking out for the day and place them in your designated box at the lab. All reports should be completed neatly, dated and signed.
