Role and Responsibilities
· Lifts and carries materials and tools throughout work areas using appropriate equipment. · Will use hand tools such as the hammer, sledgehammer, wrench, pliers to accomplish daily tasks. · Heavy Lifting · Manufacturing Cement Pipes · Other general duties as required to assist with the production of pipes and box culverts · Assist with assigned responsibilities such as finishing, repairs, and patches concrete pipes, and/or operating equipment.
· Always maintains neat and orderly work areas. · Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures. · Reports any problems or discrepancies to management. · Other duties may be assigned. Shifts start at 5am and typically run through 3:30pm on average (10hr shift) with an average high of 5:30pm (12hr shift) through Friday and occasional Saturdays to 8-10hrs when scheduled.
Work Environment · Able to work with dust and outside environment conditions (Hot/Cold/outside/dusty environment conditions, rain, wind, etc.) · Use to wearing earplugs and other PPE – such as hard hat, steel-toes boots, gloves, and safety glasses as required.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. · Standing, walking, and stooping throughout the shift (able to squat, crawl, climb, reach, carry, push, pull and stand) · Ability to keep up with manufacturing requirements. · Lift up to 50lbs (with the help of proper machinery as well) · Currently certified forklift operator OR ability to be certified as a forklift operator · Able to use tools and equipment associated with precast concrete production
Required Education and Experience · Must be able to follow instructions verbally, writing or visually. · Ability to use hand tools. · 3Months- 6 Months- Construction · 3Months- 6 Months - Landscaping · Pouring and finishing concrete in forms · Teamwork environment · Forklift Certifications are a plus
Preferred Skills · 2 years of work-related experience AND/OR training in skilled trades
