Overview:
The leadership development and learning specialist is a strategic partner and advisor to the organizational development, human resources, and operations partners in matters involving talent management, performance management, leadership assessment & development, and organizational culture. This role is responsible for elevating the new leader orientation, identifying & developing the leaders of tomorrow, and collaborating with program leaders to create and facilitate organizational development curriculum.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership Development:
  • Partners with the Director of learning and Development, the Director of Human Resources and the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement a leadership learning plan and new leader orientation program
  • Creates and develops training programs for managers
  • Conduct training sessions for managers on effective performance evaluation techniques and providing constructive feedback.
  • Enhances the Emerging Leaders Program by developing content, and delivering the curriculum.
  • Researches new trends in leadership development  and proposes innovative strategies to develop our future leaders , support  upcoming demand sfor more specialized leadership development.
  • Coaches and supports managers with performance management and navigating difficult conversations.
  • Offers insights and recommendations based on best practices and industry standards for effective performance evaluation.
 
Succession Management:
  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates career development initiatives to support organization wide talent management goals
  • Develops tailored succession management strategies based on best practices.
  • Facilitates 360 feedback process and identifies gaps and development requirements for current Royal and future Royal leaders
  • Develops and executes a high potential program for leaders. 
 
Organizational Development:
  • Partners with Director, L&D and Director, Communications to implement organizational engagement method for employees and physicians
  • Assists with conducting and actioning employee and physician engagement surveys
  • Partners with Senior Leadership Team to champion organizational people and culture initiatives
  • Partners with program leadership to design and facilitate educational workshops
  • Researches and prepares recommendations for course enhancements, tools & activities as required
  • Partners with Human Resources to create and implement corporate on-boarding for new hires

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or Healthcare Leadership.
  • Leadership Coaching, Adult Education certification preferred. 
  • Human Resources Professional Association registration preferred. 
  • 5 years of experience in Leadership Development, including program development, facilitation, coaching, and Organizational Development or effectiveness.
  • At least 3 years if that experience in Talent Management, with a focus on talent planning and assessment practices.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the strategic value of integrated talent management processes with strong business acumen
  • Strong research and analysis skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and work with large data sets to identify issues, trends, or patterns
  • Ability to create manager education and facilitate learning workshops (topics would be people management education)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in small and large group settings. Ability to effectively present information to senior leadership
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage structured workload to ensure maximum effectiveness in working with partners and team members
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate as a team, think creatively, manage own time and take initiative to successfully drive projects
  • Strong business acumen- able to link talent management value proposition to impact and results
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively launch programs, processes, and/or practices in a healthcare environment
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, navigates confidentiality, adapts to change and is results oriented
  • English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $40.93 to  $48.73 per hour
