Duties:

  • Set up patients for  polysomnographic recordings (overnight sleep studies, nap & alertness tests)
  • Monitor patients undergoing testing to ensure patient safety and maintain high quality recordings
  • Conduct CPAP/Bi-Level titrations for patients with sleep-related breathing disorders
  • Analyze recordings and prepare reports for sleep laboratory physicians
  • Maintain required documentation on the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Assist in administrative functions of the laboratory
  • Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal
  • Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment & Discrimination Free policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with one of the following: 
  • B.Sc./B.A. in Life Sciences
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Registered EEG Technologist (REEGT)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT)
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills in a multi-tasking high-volume environment 
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team in a highly organized manner 
  • Knowledge of infection control standards
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and to respond to rapidly changing situations
  • CPR Certification Level B within the last 12 months
  • WHMIS update within the last 12 months                    
  • English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression.  Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.  

Salary Range: $36.84 to  $50.24 per hour
