Job Summary

The Manager, Body Shop drives and leads execution of Body Shop service delivery, and manages all related quality, productivity, safety, maintenance, equipment, materials and labor resource requirements and processes.
Primary Objectives
- Plan, coordinate, drive and manage execution of services with a metrics-driven, process-oriented approach that optimizes productivity, minimizes defects and damage, and ensures safe, orderly production.
- Align core service delivery with customer and corporate requirements and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, quality system standards, and Pasha’s policies.
- Complete timely and accurate data review, reconciliation and reporting to support billing and other business processes.
- Manage staff effectively in alignment with Pasha’s values and business and contract requirements.
- Develop effective resource plans, including labor scheduling, materials inventory and equipment, to ensure safe and orderly execution of operations based on forecasted demand. Directly assign labor to jobs in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement(s) and workload.
- Manage, document and communicate accountable processes to ensure effective service delivery. Drive quality, efficiency and productivity optimization through development, communication and implementation of best practices.
- Communicate daily priorities, requirements and service status to body shop staff, vendors, and PAS operations management, production and customer service teams.
- Develop, implement and manage survey and quality management processes to consistently and accurately identify and record external damage and prevent misclassification to internal damage.
- Manage and develop maintenance and inspection programs to ensure optimal safety and performance for the life of all equipment and tools and proper handling, storage and use of materials.
- Direct, lead, and develop body shop employees. Manage performance and conduct in accordance with Pasha policies and values, documentation requirements and practices and collective bargaining agreement terms.
- Use effective, active supervision practices, including startup and safety meetings, daily observation rounds, and effective communication practices to ensure operational alignment and delivery of daily production requirements.
- Manage effective, service-driven relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction of requirements, standards and service level agreements.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and professional working environment with effective and secure storage of equipment, tools and materials.
- Ensure awareness of and compliance with safety and environmental requirements and practices, including materials handling and PPE requirements, equipment maintenance, posting of signs and placards, ventilation, and ergonomic best practices.
- Maintain preparedness for quality system, safety, customer and regulatory audits; ensure employee and vendor awareness of requirements and maintain audit-ready physical production areas and documentation.
- Oversee creation, maintenance and utilization of current process documentation and instructions, job aids and reference materials.
- Review and report department performance against planned productivity, quality, budgetary and KPI targets. Identify trends and develop and implement action plans to address variances and leverage improvement opportunities.
- Ensure maintenance of accurate, timely operations-related information in applicable data systems to facilitate accurate billing, inventory and operational reporting. Conduct regular audits and reporting review to identify and correct errors.
- Lead and coordinate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with customers to review performance metrics, address concerns, and align on continuous improvement opportunities and strategic objectives.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent combination of coursework and experience required
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required within 90 days of commencement of position required
- Valid driver license and acceptable driving record required to operate vehicle on terminal required
- Complete and maintain a current I-Car (PL1 Refinish Technician) certification required
- 5+ years' related experience with an emphasis on business management and automobile processing required
- 2+ years' experience managing staff in an operations environment required
- Experience with body shop operations required
- Detailed understanding of body shop operations and related principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to workforce and safety practices at the facility; familiarity with OSHA regulations, and incident reporting and documentation processes.
- Working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations, including requirements set forth by the APCD (Air Pollution Control District) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and relevant hazardous materials handling, posting, disposal and storage requirements.
- Familiarity with the principles of labor contracts/collective bargaining agreements. Strong working knowledge of the provisions of relevant collective bargaining agreements required within 15 days of commencement of position.
- Proficiency with use of operations management software and reporting functionality.
- Strong quantitative and analytical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment, prioritize projects and deliverables, and interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency at basic to intermediate level with use Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with quality systems (ISO, LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma) preferred.

This role requires work that may involve the following environmental conditions:
- Fast paced production environment including shop floor and outdoors in the vehicle staging yard, where inclement weather conditions may occur.

The salary range listed is based on the geographic zone associated with this role: National City, CA. Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.
Zone 2: $105,000 - $125,000
Zone 2: $105,000 - $125,000
This job is also eligible for participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on eligible compensation and corporate/individual performance goal attainment.
