JOB OVERVIEW:

Are you fluent in social culture and social platforms? A natural storyteller? Passionate about big ideas? Smart, strategic thinker? Expert communicator? With awesome writing skills? You might make a great Social Strategist at MAS. As an experience agency, we help brands emotionally connect with people - usually through in real life and virtual. We’re looking for someone who has creative and entrepreneurial drive, with an insatiable appetite for helping brands emotionally connect with people. This is a mid level position within the strategy group at MAS.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • RESEARCH background on our client brands, their products, target audiences, and the competitive landscape to discover insights that help inspire our strategic approach for projects. If you’re a naturally curious person that loves to learn, this should be fun. You should be comfortable researching across a variety of verticals - it might be digging into developing social and technology platforms one day, and exploring touring festival trends the next day.
  • CRAFT briefs for our clients and our creative team, and develop strong, concise strategic narratives. For briefs, you’ll be distilling goals and objectives down to their core, capturing the essence of our client’s brands and products, and inspiring creative ideation. For projects, you’ll translate audience insights and client objectives into social and experiential campaign strategies that guide our work.
  • IDEATE concepts in collaboration with our creative teams, helping bring strategic impact to all of our projects. You should bring ideas to the table that leverage social/cultural trends and new technologies that make our work not only relevant, but also create resonance beyond the experience itself.
  • DEVELOP presentation decks for pitches, providing support, research, and insights for overall project creative strategy. You should love translating strategy into a compelling story that drives creative approach and clearly, concisely helps it all make sense. If you can take a 50 page deck and sum it up in 5 slides, you got this.
  • OWN client projects, developing them from initial briefing to strategic planning, and from creative concept to execution, to assure they meet the original strategic and creative intent. Here’s where you can show-off that entrepreneurial spirit and your leadership chops.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:

  • 4 - 6 years working in social strategy at an experiential, social, creative, or brand agency (ideally with social experiential credits to your name).
  • A passion for the intersection of culture, behavior, trends, and technology. You have thoughts - oh so many thoughts - on why and how people use social media to communicate and consume content and experiences.
  • Advanced knowledge of existing and emerging social platforms. You know the ins and outs of these products, their user behaviors, general capabilities, and interfaces.
  • Great organizational and time-management skills. You can juggle multiple projects across different teams with shifting deadlines—and still deliver killer work with great attention to detail.
  • Client-facing experience. You’re confident and comfortable in presenting, pitching, explaining a process, instilling trust, and generally just being awesome.
  • Amazing written, visual, and verbal communication skills. You’re comfortable taking complex information and making it easy to understand - in a conversation, or written down.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to contribute and excel regardless of work setting. You can work autonomously and through ambiguity, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
