Position Summary

A Production Manager is responsible for identifying, managing and executing logistics from pre-production through post-production. They support the Producer(s) and Technical Director(s) in completing a project on budget and on schedule, while meeting the needs of the client. The Production Manager oversees the Production Coordinator(s) on the project and reports to the Producer(s) of a given project, and on an overall basis to the VP, People & Operations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting Producer(s) to manage all aspects of production
  • Supervises Production Coordinators on project as needed and may complete PC deliverables depending on show size and staffing
  • Demonstrates leadership and strong project management skills as lead logistics manager on medium to large events
  • Exhibits critical thinking, multi-tasking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effectively manages a high volume of work and consistently provides high quality of work output
  • Works directly with Client alongside Producers in meetings and onsite
  • Anticipates needs of the production team and responds proactively
  • Leads meetings on a regular basis with members of project team to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions
  • Works with the Gack team to determine if processes should be changed or if specific equipment should be added to inventory
  • Trains and mentors junior members of the production team
  • Responsible for effective and timely communication between internal team and vendors
  • Manages team of Production Coordinators and Production Assistants on project during production cycle
  • Routine walk throughs during event with Producer(s) and Technical Director(s)
  • Leads regular production check ins with Production Coordinators and Production Assistants during production cycle
  • Manages internal sourcing decks
  • Books and manages onsite production staff
  • Along with the Producer, manage/maintain invoice log and/or pieces of the budget
  • Manages show media, final files & content on hard drives and delivering copy to client, if needed
  • Work with management to put in place procedures as needed to ensure best practices are documented, accessible and communicated to the entire staff

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing logistics in live production
  • Experience cultivating and leading teams
  • Proficiency with standard office apps (MS Office Suite/Google Suite/Adobe Acrobat)
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision

Physical Requirements:

Individuals will be required to sit for the majority of the day and will be required to stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.  Individuals will be required to travel via airplane, train, taxi, car and/or other means of transportation as needed.
