WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Opus Agency seeks an Account-specific Sr Signage Lead on a contract basis to support our portfolio of live events, expos and activations from concept through onsite execution. This position begins with a 3-month full-time contract and offers the possibility of converting to permanent staff.

 The Sr Signage Lead will oversee the strategy, planning, and implementation of all print and digital signage on account-specific events. This role sits within our production team and bridges the gap between Creative and Production as well as supports the creative holistically across projects and multiple workstreams.

This role will lead a dedicated internal signage team in the design and development of all aspects of our signage workstreams. The Signage Lead is responsible for budgeting, timelines/work back schedules, project team management, client relations, vendor management and the day-to-day implementation of the creative deliverables. Such deliverables could include concepting and brand ID, wayfinding plans, attendee journey design, scenic design, signage and branding, video and media, content development and more. The Signage Lead may manage multiple workstreams, and ensures adherence to Opus process and client brand guidelines.

Successful candidates will be able to anticipate and creatively solve for roadblocks, make thoughtful recommendations, be an accountable leader, and demonstrate a deep understanding of signage production. Must be results oriented, clear communicator, detail focused, able to meet demanding deadlines and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

 

YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • 8+ years of experience managing creative projects
  • Strong proficiency in Airtable; experienced in Microsoft Office suite and Google Suite & Drive; Monday.com experience is a bonus
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams across multiple signage workstreams
  • Ability to keep a high-level view of all processes, connecting gaps in communication and eliminating bottlenecks or roadblocks in the workflow 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of digital signage and large format signage handling, including content management, onsite deployment, fabrication and rigging
  • Understanding of attendee journeys, ensuring clear directional planning for wayfinding signage
  • Excellent vendor relationship skills, able to negotiate quotes, manage timelines, and troubleshoot potential hurdles
  • Experience stewarding multi-workstream budgets, maintaining a strong handle on current spend and forecasts to guide informed client conversations and responsible decision making
  • Experience presenting and supporting concepts to internal and external teams and clients
  • Ability to work independently, in a team, and as a report to a project lead
  • Ability to support and work collaboratively with different workstyles, teams, clients seamlessly
  • Successfully perform in a high stress, fast-paced environment

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the signage team as needed from a logistical standpoint. 
  • Manage client expectations in partnership with the Print Lead, Large Format Lead, and Digital Lead.
  • Identify and solve for any areas of inefficiency or disconnect across the team, implementing operational shifts to eliminate silos as needed.
  • Serve as the team’s source of truth and single point of accountability, ensuring clear, cohesive decision-making across each signage workstream
  • Advocate for client creative needs with the team understanding the budget and information needed to support from a production standpoint.
  • Prepare for and attend site visits, leading venue-specific walkthroughs with the client team to clearly communicate signage and branding plans 
  • Serve as the onsite lead for all signage workstreams during event dates, ensuring smooth installations, providing client with detailed status reports, and navigating budget implications of any damages, late adds, or missing items
  • Direct client communication to assure team can focus on the deliverables and ensure communication is organized and responsive
  • Respect and understand the creative process on a project
  • Track all creative deliverables through team tools and in accordance with client needs.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and clients
  • Be the connective tissue holistically and know the project inside and out to ensure successful results
  • Manage approved budgets, working closely with each workstream lead to stay on target throughout the pre-production cycle
  • Communicate with Client team and Project Lead weekly on budget updates and when change orders are necessary
  • Set timelines and associated milestones for all projects, integrating with other service lines when required
  • Drive process and timeline with internal and client teams for creative design, reviews, and approvals AND vendor partners on deadlines, proofs, final file delivery and onsite execution
  • Establish good relations with vendors and work with vendors in securing needed materials on time, within budget and meeting requested specifications.
  • Manage internal and client facing documents including but not limited to: signage grids, signage plans, integrated space plans, attendee journey docs, wayfinding maps, etc. 
  • Lead internal and external meetings, take notes, set agendas, follow up on action items for the creative team
  • Go above and beyond to ensure client and company success
  • Effectively manage a high volume of work and consistently provide a high quality of work output
  • Utilize creative problem solving all along the planning cycle, consistently looking for ways to deliver more effectively
  • Review creative layouts with the Creative Director and collectively provide feedback
  • Manage approved scope of project and notify team of any scope changes
  • Manage timeline and workback; communicate changes to the team and clients when necessary - keep the signage team on track; set and meet expectations with clients 
  • Communicate with the Resourcing team when (budgeted) creative resources are needed
  • Set up and lead internal review meetings between the project team (prior to client calls)
  • Set up and lead partner/vendor meetings to ensure alignment (prior to client calls)
  • Communicate with client the status of signage deliverables
  • Identify and track when a new resource is needed to support the deliverable. (Copywriter, Graphics, Animations, UX/UI, Etc.)
  • Manage legal reviews as necessary
  • Support creative budget reconciliation
  • Project wrap and archive content

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The project fee for this 3-month contract is between $25,000 and $30,000. Our compensation ranges are based on third-party national average market analysis. The actual fee is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
