WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR  
 
The Sr. Manager, Resourcing sits on Opus Agency’s Centralized Resourcing Team (CRT) alongside other department staffing experts for the Agency. As a member of CRT, this role is responsible for thoughtful collaboration with staffing counterparts and Agency leaders to build highly effective teams that are scalable and right sized to our clients and events.   
   
The Sr. Manager, Resourcing serves as the foundation for Opus Event Technology & Registration team members to deliver unforgettable experiences and delight our Fortune 100 & 500 corporate clientele.   
The role is the primary individual responsible for assigning staff resources to projects, which requires an in-depth understanding of the services Event Tech & Reg offers, the event roles our team members fill, and the ability to creatively problem solve for resourcing challenges.  
   
The Sr. Manager, Resourcing regularly communicates with all Event Tech & Reg team members and leadership, other agency resourcing managers, the Opus Group’s contingent workforce team, and agency leadership. This role requires the ability to manage and accurately maintain detailed documentation, while simultaneously and concisely summarizing updates and business requirements.  
   
The candidate should be able to retain information about events and team member schedules; resolve staffing challenges under time pressure; manage team member expectations; and make sound decisions based on a variety of business factors.  
   
This position is required to operate in the Pacific Time zone. This role may have supervisory responsibilities.   
  
YOU SHOULD HAVE  
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant role is required, depending on type of experience. The following industry experience is highly preferred:
    • Event registration, attendee services, and/or event technology coordination for conferences 
    • Experience with event technology (e.g., registration tools, digital event platforms, mobile app) 
    • Managing resourcing/staffing for teams of 20+ team members 
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year institution is preferred 
  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  
  • Manage staffing assignments for Event Tech & Registration team (currently 50 team members).
    • Collaborate with EVP, Event Tech & Registration and Leadership Team to strategically staff projects based on availability, skill set, client needs, and expertise required.
    • Think creatively to resolve staffing challenges.
    • Maintain staffing documentation, ensuring accuracy and currency.
    • Use knowledge of agency rates, pricing practices, and profitability to support strategic staffing decisions.
    • Proactively identify staffing needs that require hiring (full time, temporary, contractor) resources.
    • Track contractor engagements, including working with internal Opus teams for contractor onboarding, submitting invoices.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Opus Agency and Event Technology & Registration.  
    • Understand all services offered by Event Technology & Registration and Opus Agency.
    • Understand event technology landscape, including tools most frequently used and general requirements.
    • Maintains an understanding of department resources, processes, and tools, and support and adhere to Opus Agency’s operating procedures.
    • Represent Event Technology & Registration needs within Centralized Resourcing Team as new processes and strategies are being developed and deployed.
    • Support Centralized Resourcing Team process rollout and adoption with the Event Technology and Registration team.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with agency leadership, internal teams, vendors, and clients.
    • Participate in Agency-wide resourcing meetings and internal communications.
    • Maintain current knowledge of incoming new business and proactively manage for staffing implications.
    • Proactively communicate with Event Technology & Registration team members regarding their staffing, desired growth plans, interests, etc.
  • Demonstrate business analysis skills by tracking team member utilization and maintaining a contractor budget.
    • Includes refining and maintaining a staffing forecasting methodology.
    • Manage miscellaneous operational duties and special projects as prioritized in partnership with CRT and ET&R leaders.
  • Based on bandwidth, the Sr. Manager, Resourcing may occasionally fill onsite roles for events (requires travel), or fill customer service support roles.
  • May require managing direct reports and/or participating in hiring process.

  • Microsoft Office and / or Google suite program experience; spreadsheet experience strongly preferred. Regularly use common spreadsheet formulas, and can create, edit, and present upon reports.

  • Reasoning Skills - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
TRAVEL REQUIRED  
 
This position may be occasionally required to travel to attend events. Air travel and overnight stays are required. Travel is anticipated approximately 3-4 times per year

HOW WE’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU 
 
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting salary for this role is between $75,000 and $85,000. Our salary ranges are based on third-party national average market compensation analysis. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
