EVENT MANAGER - OPERATIONS 

Opus Agency is looking for an experienced Event Manager – Operations is to manage and/or work on large/complex logistical workstreams. You will be working with the Opus team, clients and vendors.  This includes pre-planning event logistics, flawless execution onsite, and final debrief.  

This is a temporary employment or project-based opportunity, with potential reoccurrence. 

YOU SHOULD HAVE 

  • 5+ years of experience in the event logistics  
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team of vendors and event staff 
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Excel is a required skill) and Google Suite 
  • Highly detailed and able to multi-task with limited direction
  • Self-Starter 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Professional presentation as a reflection of the Opus culture 
  • Experience managing event logistics for large complex/events, including but not limited tofacility management, food & beverage, signage, transportation, ancillaries, expo, sponsorship, and executive engagement   

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Independently manage workstream from start to finish 
  • Demonstrates expertise, management, and consultation skills when conducting business with clients, vendors and Opus team members. 
  • Create and manage timelines and deliverables 
  • Create onsite documentation 
  • Exhibits strong critical thinking, multi-tasking, and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Ability to anticipate areas of risk and implement creative solutions. 
  • Attend and run meetings on a regular basis  
  • Accurately manage budgets, obtains written client approval and maintains timely updates. preventing budget overruns and increasing client expenditure awareness. 
  • Maintains independent working relationships and establishes excellent customer service with clients and vendors. 
  • Negotiates with vendors to achieve higher caliber service and/or costs savings on behalf of client.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Individuals will be required to sit for the majority of the day and will be required to stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting up to 40 lbs. as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.  Individuals will be required to travel via airplane, train, taxi, car and/or other means of transportation as needed.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 

This position may require air travel and overnight stays to attend events.
