The Talent Development Manager is a trusted partner, with a proactive nature, impeccable attention to detail and ability to improve processes. This person will support the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition & Development and Agency leaders through leading our Learning & Development initiatives and Employee Engagement program.
This role leads the Learning and Development Programs for team members across our global offices including New Hire Orientation, Leadership Development, Talent Developer Workshops (manager training), and Wellness Programming. This role partners with the different workstreams within the HR team and leaders across the organization. This role also supports our Employee Engagement program through data collection, reporting and partnering with leadership through strategic engagement plans.
The right person for this role is an experienced facilitator with a track record of facilitating engaging virtual and in-person learning environments. This person has a strategic mindset with a focus on how our L&D programming can fuel employee development, engagement, culture and business objectives.
This role is supported by the Sr. Coordinator, Talent Operations & Systems who leads system administration and reporting efforts. This is a stellar opportunity to grow your career within a dynamic, creative agency environment and be a part of a collaborative team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learning & Development - 60%
- In partnership with the Sr. Director, Talent Acquisition & Development, you will assess, design, develop and implement new and existing programs and resources across a variety of topics.
- You will be responsible for bringing together external experts and internal stakeholders to build customized global learning solutions.
- Responsible for planning and executing logistics for Talent Development Programs including scheduling training sessions, coordinating with internal and external speakers, promoting sessions, building registration pages in the LMS and sending related communications
- Facilitate live sessions including but not limited to New Hire Orientation, Wellness Workshop and Talent Developer Workshops (manager training) and Leadership Development Programs.
- Ownership for the Learning Management Platform (LMS), responsible for ensuring the LMS is a relevant tool for all team members by maintaining and enhancing the content library, strategic organization, segmenting learner content to appropriate audiences
- Lead Instructional Design efforts of new training content and materials, including topic research, content development, preparing slide decks, creating job aids and knowledge checks, learner assignments.
- Develop and manage project plans using project management software, tracking goals, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts across the company to consulate and support them in department specific content creation
- Utilize methodologies such as ADDIE or Kirkpatrick's models to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and ensure a measurable return on investment (ROI).
- Provides backend support for colleagues during virtual live training sessions by assisting with managing polls, breakouts and helping attendees troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain and update all Learner’s training records to ensure each record is accurate.
- Proactively look for ways to streamline processes and improve efficiencies with the quality of the employee experience prioritized.
- Role is primarily remote, however, occasional travel to offices or offsites may be required to support in-person Learning & Development Programs.
Communications - 20%
- Create and publish a monthly newsletter, The Learning Letter by concepting, writing and editing content as well as sourcing external content. Partnering with the Marketing team to distribute.
- Create and publish a quarterly newsletter, Talent Talk by concepting, writing and editing content and sourcing external resources. This requires collaboration with the extended HR team to ensure topics and content meet current business needs and initiatives and partnership with Marketing to distribute.
- Create and Maintain Communication Plan for marketing internal Learning & Development opportunities utilizing newsletters, email and slack channels.
- Serve as the main point of contact for inquiries by managing the Learning Inbox and responding to emails within 1 business day.
- Maintain our Content Creator Slack community, ensuring content creators have support in their development work, and apprised of new LMS features and best practices.
Surveys & Engagement Program - 15%
- Project Manages our two employee workplace surveys (Engagement & Belonging), coordinating needs, building surveys and interpreting results and reporting.
- Project Manages pre and post surveys for Learning & Development Programming, analyzing effectiveness of programs and using this data to improve our offering and gauge ROI.
- Supporting the review of survey results with stakeholders and agency leadership including presentation template creation, processing system reports for distribution, ensuring data presented is accurate, and providing interpretation and insights of the data.
- Makes recommendations to leadership based on relevant engagement data, observations and best practices.
Vendor Sourcing & Management - 5%
- Support with researching outside partners and speakers to enhance our programming, manage RFPs, analyze proposals and provide Executive Summaries/presentations with recommendations.
- Lead vendor contracting efforts, guest speakers and external training programs. Manage contracting process, payments and budget updates.
YOU SHOULD HAVE:
- Experience designing and delivering Leadership Development experiences and programs that support a growing workforce.
- Understanding of Instructional Design Principles and Applications of how to build content for Adult Learners. You’ve developed curriculum and learning programs from ideation to implementation and have partnered with subject matter specialists to do the same.
- A Learner’s mindset, excited to learn new things, to bring to the agency environment to enhance our programming.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills within all levels of the organization and with the public.
- Ability to exert influence without direct authority while fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
- A strong interest in understanding the variety of roles and perspectives in our learner community, to ensure L&D programs are a value add for our teams and help them meet their goals.
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to effectively prioritize workload on multiple projects & tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Experience working with learning management systems.
- Displays strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities, experience with data analysis.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment, producing a high volume of internal resources and live workshops.
- Focuses on delivering a high-quality learner experience and execution.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality as a member of the Human Resources team.
- 3+ years of experience in training, learning & development, or instructional design roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Instructional Design or related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite or related software.
- Ability to learn new software programs quickly
- Preferred Qualifications
- ATD, PHR or SHRM-CP certification encouraged
- Certifications in Training Facilitation, or programs such as DiSC, Crucial Conversations, Clifton Strengths or other programs, valued.
- Experience with leading a team and/or managing people, valued.

HOW WE’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting salary for this role is between $80,000 and $90,000. Our salary ranges are based on third-party national average market compensation analysis. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
