The Motley Fool is looking for a highly skilled, Senior Payroll Consultant to consult with our payroll team on an ongoing, independent contract basis. We will likely need only 1-5 hours per week of commitment from this individual, so it would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a very low-hours, part-time role.
 

This is a senior-level role that is very flexible and 100% remote. However, candidates must be located in the United States for consideration.

What would you do in this role?

The payroll team is looking for a contractor experienced with payroll taxes that can help with one-off tax inquiries. This person would be able to research a solution with minimal help from the payroll team and propose a solution to the payroll manager for review. Depending on the task, the contractor may then be asked to finalize the solution proposed.

Depending on the number of tax inquiries we receive, there may be as little as zero hours per week of work, or up to 5 or so hours. We are very flexible with scheduling and this work can be done in the contractor’s own time with turnaround time of roughly one week.

But What Would You Actually Do in this role?

●        Consult and research solutions for various payroll inquiries The Motley Fool receives.

●        Provide intel to the Payroll Manager using Slack and Email.

●        Propose a solution to each tax inquiry, and collaborate with the Payroll Manager to finalize that solution. 

●        TMF exists in 150+ tax localities across the globe, but the majority of inquiries are US based.

Required Experience:

●       2+ years of experience dealing directly with payroll taxes.

●        Experience with Payroll Software (UKG is preferred)

●       Experience with Excel/Google Sheets.

Preferred Qualifications:

●        International payroll experience would be a plus but is not required.

Compensation:

The budget for this role is $50-60 per hour depending on experience.
