Jr. Financial Analyst, Receivables & Treasury – Maternity leave

Position at Havas

Havas Toronto is looking for dynamic and detailed oriented individual to joint the finance team. Working closely with the Manager, Financial Accounting and CFO, this position will assist the Finance department in fulfilling departmental objectives and mandates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily deposits and remit to bank using Remote Deposit System
  • Post all incoming payments – cheques, wires, EFT
  • Prepare and post intercompany transfers
  • Perform day-to-day collections activities – by phone and email, to ensure the timely collection of all accounts
  • Follow up with clients regarding overdue account, investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare weekly Cash inflow and outflow analysis
  • Perform analytical review of monthly AR ageing
  • Provide Stakeholders with monthly AR ageing analysis
  • Assist with intercompany reconciliation and report balances in Intercompany Tool semi-annually
  • Back up and assist with Treasury Responsibilities
  • Mark and reconcile cheques that have cleared bank on a weekly basis
  • Review and approve cash disbursement requests while monitoring bank accounts to prevent overdraft and maintaining cash targets.
  • Perform daily cash reconciliations by updating treasury spreadsheet for deposits and disbursements
  • Liaise with Banking Officer regarding queries for deposits and account activity as needed
  • Calculate month-end cash at books and bank and average cash
  • Assist with forecasting monthly cash collections
  • Process credit applications and provide banking details to clients when required
  • Assist with preparation of Audit working papers and AR analysis as well as audit confirmation letters
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as required


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, university degree or college diploma in Accounting and pursuing courses towards completion of an accounting designation
  • A minimum of three years experience in Accounts Receivables is required
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to go over and beyond the job requirements
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel and Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Demonstrates accuracy and high level of attention to detail
  • Deadline oriented with ability to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Team player with positive professional attitude and excellent work ethics
  • Experience with MediaOcean is an asset
  • Preference will be given to those with experience in marketing communications, advertising and media.
