The Analytics Team:
Our Analytics team are at the forefront of providing analytical measurement solutions which help our clients understand their customers, and plan and optimise their marketing investments. We are responsible for; providing solutions to prove effectiveness across a core set of KPIs, aiding strategists and planners in the setting and phasing of media budgets, and developing income generating opportunities.
As well as building econometric, running attributions models and multiple existing data products, we are continually looking for new and innovative ways to measure effectiveness and are developing new products, including the application of machine learning to the ever greater types and quantities of data which requires our expertise to turn it into value and actionable insight. The role of our data scientists is to drive new product development, drive internal efficiency gains and deliver bespoke solutions to clients using the full range of data science approaches.
We pride ourselves in our impressive track record of being able to interpret and communicate complex findings in an intuitive and informative way, maximising the benefit to our clients. The quality of our work is well recognised externally - we won a Media Week Gold in 2015 and 2017 for "Best use of econometrics" for our work on Westfield and Domino's and we have made major contributions to IPA Effectiveness Award winning papers in recent years.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing the data science function, supported closely by the head of analytics. The role involves a wide range of data projects and challenges, from building tools that support agency decision-making, to developing our agency capabilities and working on a range of bespoke data projects for our clients. You will also be working closely together with the data engineering and data strategy teams to deliver end to end solutions.
Exploiting internal opportunities to apply data science thinking and techniques to Havas media data sets and processes
Develop solutions, diagnosing and deploying analytical solutions to client problems
Driving the data science agenda internally by building understanding and usage
Collaborating with other data teams (data strategy, data engineering, DBi, analytics) to deliver market leading solutions to a wide variety of data challenges
Maintaining and evolving our proprietary Marketing Mix Modelling solution (built in RShiny), developing new tools to meet evolving requirements
Managing one data scientist initially, with an ambition to grow the headcount
Who we’re looking for:
Proficiency programming in R (especially Shiny) and Python
Extensive experience applying multiple data science methodologies (predictive modelling, linear/logistic regression, machine learning, clustering, principal components analysis)
An appetite to learn & use cutting edge techniques
An enthusiasm for delivering solutions that build relevant stories for clients
An attention to detail and an ability to QA the code of you and other team members to ensure accuracy
A commitment to drive and grow the data science function within Havas
Familiarity with cloud-based data storage solutions i.e. GCP, AWS
A familiarity with media agency data sources and/ or a media agency background (preferable)
A willingness to engage with data science community (preferable)
