Account Director – Experiential

 

Havas Street, a national experiential marketing agency, is currently seeking an Account Director for our LA office. The role effectively manages activation programs including but not limited to day-to-day client communication, planning, strategy and workstream management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Strategy

  • Works with Creative and account leadership team to develop high-quality activation programs
  • Works strategically with the President to regularly monitor client’s program goals, KPIs, and progress
  • Provide creative ideas on behalf of the client
  • Stay on trend within category and provide culturally relevant topics client should consider
  • Flag competitive activity to client and internal team

 

Account Management

  • Manages programs and timelines/planning calendars
  • Acts as the main POC for interagency team
  • Proactively handles action items and deliverables
  • Serves as the account’s lead problem solver
  • Helps to brief Creative team regarding client needs
  • Works with Designer when building new ideas, assets and concepts for client
  • Leads client calls and oversees status updates
  • Identifies key priorities/deliverables for client and manages expectations
  • Conducts program evaluation and oversees all client reporting including daily reporting, weekly reporting, program end recaps and custom reports as requested
  • Leads some crisis communications/management
  • Works to ensure longstanding relationships with client
  • Participates in weekly internal team status meetings
  • Approves expenses associated with programs

 

Writing | Editing

  • Provides writing style and tone direction to the team for each specific project
  • Writes, edits and approves all written materials prior to client distribution; if needed, elevates to President or VP for consideration

 

New Business

  • Helps to build current account organically
  • May assist the President in conducting introductory meetings with new business
  • Works with the President to develop new business proposals
  • Assists in leading proposal presentations
  • Assists in RFP responses and helps to lead brainstorms
  • Delegates new business research to team members and compiles/organizes information found

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (communications, liberal arts, business or marketing preferred)

Experience: 6-8 years experiential marketing experience at minimum required. Project management work experience required.  

Skills & Abilities Required: Excellent presentation skills and comfortable speaking in front of groups. Staff- and client respected leadership qualities demonstrating proven ability to lead by example. Possesses motivational capabilities in a highly pressurized environment. Is appropriate, approachable and fair. Has strong analytical and problem solving skills including handling “hot seat” situations. Meets tight deadlines and has an exceptional eye for details.

 

Strong people management skills to include the ability to mentor staff and provide direction and objectives, performance counseling and skill building. Ability to manage up and down in the organization. Knowledge of when to rely on personal judgment and when to seek advice. Good delegation skills. Strong independence, solid judgement, drive and influence. Entrepreneurial spirit, passion and intellectual curiosity. Must be collaborative, resourceful, solutions focused and results driven.

 

Strong writing, editing, listening and verbal communications skills. Capable of multitasking, prioritizing and organizing. Self-motivated and able to work well in a collaborative environment as well as individually. Effectively manages time and follow up.
