Mars United Commerce is seeking a Director, Sales Development to drive retail media sales efforts for a retail client. Candidates must reside in a commutable distance to Mars United Commerce's Chicago office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maximize Mars United Commerce and our retail client’s revenue growth by managing a defined sales territory of CPG advertisers.
- Evangelize retail media as a “best spend” for brands that sell at our retail client
- Develop Trusted Advisor role with CPG advertisers for retail media on behalf of our retail client
- Ensure strong return on advertiser investments for our retailer client’s offerings and pivot toward large scale executions and campaign planning, audience targeting and campaign management
- Work with stakeholders throughout Mars and client ecosystems to identify and deliver against scalable advertising opportunities for the retailer’s vendors.
- Work with the team lead directly on conceiving and managing business development opportunities that the sales team will drive forward in the marketplace.
- Leverage tools for accurate forecasting/ reporting/ planning
- Represent and grow our Retail Client’s media network to the media agency and/or non-endemic to retail advertising community
- Hit internal individual revenue budgets and division budget
- Ability to project manage and stay on top of the many aspects required to effectively execute a multi-faceted advertising program
- Engaging in strategic relationships with key drivers who help foster new lead generation.
- Prospecting skills to help drive new business and backfill the churn in your business.
SKILLSETS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree and/or experience in CPG Marketing, Shopper Marketing or Media
- 3-5 years of relevant sales experience or campaign planning in Retailer Media
- Successful track record in either sales, marketing or campaign planning
- Strong prospecting and presentation skills
- Ability to get results through others and foster strategic relationships with peers, publisher-contacts and vendors
- Ability to champion assigned Strategic Business Units at the Retail Client and ability to forge the necessary relationships internally at the retailer to help drive your revenue assignment.
- Maintain effective relationships with key decision makers
- A winning and influential personality
- Gifted at multi-dimensional selling & strategic campaign planning
- Strong communication skills with excellent time management skills
- High level of energy and drive to be successful

Compensation Range: $119,510 - $171,675 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
