Senior Data Analyst   

Position Overview:   

Climate, LLC’s mission is to help the world’s farmers sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools. The Business Analytics Team is focused on creating a competitive advantage for Climate and our customers through metrics, insights, and data services. We are an entrepreneurial team that builds and uses state-of-the-art analytics systems. Sitting within the Customer Experience and Enablement Department, our work informs decisions and direction for our business, while also impacting our products.  

Sr. Data Analysts are part of a core team that enables strategic decision making throughout the company. As a member of the team, your primary responsibility will be to work with department leaders to derive insights that improve business performance.  This includes exploratory analysis of large data sets, metrics identification and report creation, and development and maintenance of analytic systems. This role will broadly influence the company’s products, operational effectiveness, sales/marketing strategy, and elevate the role of data as an asset to the business.  We are looking for a candidate with a passion for data analysis.   

What You Will Do:   

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on company data and work with stakeholders to solve problems, identify trends and develop detailed metrics to assess KPI performance
  • Develop new analyses and actionable insights that inform business decisions and help stakeholders execute on strategies and tactics  
  • Lead projects and perform detailed data exploration and validation from a variety of sources   
  • Act as a liaison between Global teams and provide consultative services related to data and processes  
  • Manage team Jira board and assign tasks/projects to junior analysts  
  • Design and execute analytical experiments and perform statistical analysis  
  • Create content for stakeholder and team training (governance, sharing, usage and interpretation)  
  • Expert in crafting stories, presentations and visualizations with data

Basic Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Math or a related quantitative discipline and at least 5 years of relevant analytic experience or a Master’s degree in Analytics or related field and at least 2 years of relevant analytic experience 
  • Fully proficient in SQL and Python or R  
  • Experience working as an analyst in a product, marketing or sales organization  
  • Some managerial experience required  

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics or a related discipline.    
  • Development experience with BI platforms like Looker  
  • A deep understanding of statistical analysis and experiment design   
  • Ability to execute research projects, and generate practical results and recommendations  
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in both individual and team settings   
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
