Position Overview

The Sr. Director, Product is responsible for the development and execution of the overall product roadmap for the Climate FieldView Platform.  Partnering with domain experts in science, agronomy, and commercial sales, this leadership role is responsible for ensuring this content gets shipped in the form of a great software product.  The role will report directly to the Head of Product and serve as a senior member of the Product leadership team. Recruit, support, inspire, and scale a culture of innovation and commitment within product. Continuously evolve the way we build software through leadership, experimentation, concept development, and data driven product development. Navigate the balance of delivering a delightful customer experience with investing in the future to ensure a thriving product foundation and culture. Enable the organization to make the right strategic and tactical technical decisions while ensuring we have the capabilities to execute our plans.

What You Will Do

Build the Team:

  • Manage team of product leaders to effectively orchestrate the ideation, concepting, and development of Climate FieldView
  • Recruit, organize, grow, motivate, and retain top talent into our global product organization
  • Plans and allocates resources appropriately between customer segments and application technologies
  • Understands the importance of a strong product culture and helps develop that culture throughout the organization to create a work environment in which Product Managers can thrive
  • Champions a culture of data driven decision making, measurement, accountability and quality

Develop the Methodology:

  • Is the owner of the framework by which we coalesce our global product strategy for Climate Fieldview into a detailed roadmap, including setting standards around requirements, driving prioritization across customer segments, and technical integration across applications
  • Serves as the expert on modern forms of product planning, customer discovery, product discovery, and product development process
  • Able to take early stage products from concept and testing through go-to-market
  • Understands the importance of and champions continuous, rapid concepting and testing
  • Define a clear vision with challenging but achievable roadmaps and the ability to motivate the  Product team to deliver

Bring the User Experience to life:

  • Understands the importance of design in our product and partners with Head of Design to create delightful experiences for our customers and a culture where building a seamless and complete customer experience is at the core of every product
  • Strategically partners with design to enable rapid concepting and prototyping
  • Partners with science and engineering to develop powerful new experiences and insights for our customers to develop a market leading Digital Ag experience that unlocks the potential of our global farming data-set
  • Demonstrate the ability to connect with customers to understand their challenges and ensure that their needs are appropriately reflected in the product roadmap

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years professional experience managing a global, high growth software product team
  • Proven experience building, growing, retaining and inspiring a world-class, global product team with at least one mid to large scale software product company
  • Extensive experience building and shipping large-scale, global software products that are delightfully designed with high quality bar
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required; MBA preferred

  • Strong knowledge of product development and best practices
  • Able to motivate self and others to accomplish tasks and achieve goals including self-directed learning
  • Able to communicate effectively both with large groups and in one on one relationships across a diverse set of audiences including employees, customers, and media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and listening skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience with both web and mobile applications
  • Some experience with or passion for the agriculture domain
  • Ability to stay focused and execute in a fast paced environment with lots of change, and identify problems and solutions on your own.
  • An appreciation of the importance of data privacy
  • Partners with design to create simple, intuitive interfaces and products that users love
  • Technical interest and aptitude that enables you to partner closely with our engineers. You don’t need to be able to code a feature yourself, but understanding the technology stack is critical to success
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects ensuring that high level goals are met and the nitty gritty details are correct
  • Experience working with international teams
  • SQL, and/or experience using usage analytics to improve the customer journey process
