Position Overview:

The FieldView Cab Product Manager is responsible for guiding the continued success of the FieldView Cab app. This requires working with a cross-functional team to set the overall product vision, understand customer needs, define the roadmap, document new features, develop and test new concepts, seek to understand product usage through analytics, communicate with major stakeholders, and managing releases.

These various responsibilities could be broken out into three major categories:

  • User Understanding
  • Spend time talking to customers and viewing analytics to understand how the product is being used today
  • Identify what needs are not being met by the product today
  • Prototype and test product concepts and evaluate whether an idea provides value to both customers and the enterprise
  • Listen for customer feedback through various channels to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Listen to needs identified by internal sales, marketing, or other product teams
  • Strategy
  • Identify and prioritize the right things to be working on
  • Document product concepts so that engineering and other product managers can sufficiently understand the idea
  • Plan releases and ensure that sales, support, and marketing are aware of the details
  • Coordinate with Equipment Compatibility product manager to beta test and deliver new Drive compatibility in a reasonable timeframe
  • Confirm with backend PM that any required services will support desired functionality within the app
  • Execution
  • Collaborate with engineers, the QA team, product support, product marking, and other product managers to coordinate work  
  • Understand the technical environment and needs well enough to be able to effectively partner with engineering in estimating and planning work
  • Communicate plans proactively to sales, support, the QA team, marketing, and other stakeholders across the organization
  • Ensure that proper training material exists for major features
  • Stay current on concerning in-season support issues and make sure they are addressed in a timely fashion

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with and supporting the Cab App already, either in a field context with farmer customers or internally
  • Must have experience in the agriculture industry and familiarity with farming, and ideally a deep knowledge and experience base of what happens in equipment cabs across various types of farming operations
  • Willingness to work across teams and functions across the organization
  • Desire to work in a high-trust environment
  • Experience with agile software development
  • Solid communication skills
