As a UX Research Lead, you’ll contribute to solving one of the most important issues facing the world: how to feed an ever growing population with a finite amount of farming land.

Your Seat at the Table

Design has a clear seat at the table and shares the responsibility for product planning, execution and success.  You’ll be looked to as an expert in your field who will help drive UX Research in service of the customer and the business.  

Your Impact

  • Represent Climate to our grower and retailer customers in a professional manner consistent with our brand: in-person, email and telephone calls
  • Partner with Design and Product to identify and prioritize research needs and outcomes
  • Select and use appropriate research methods and tools based on research needs and goals
  • Coordinate the logistics of executing user research studies
  • Moderate 1:1 and group panels
  • Manage customer recruitment based on data metrics and track participation and incentive allocation
  • Document, compile, synthesize and communicate research findings and actionable recommendations to help inform decision making
  • Participate in competitive analysis and heuristic studies
  • Travel to customer sites and other events, primarily in the Midwest
  • Collaborate with UX designers, content strategists, product managers, engineers and data scientists
  • Constructively contribute to design critiques and reviews

 

Core qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in applied product, including web, tablet and mobile
  • Ability to balance and synthesize quantitative data and qualitative feedback
  • Ability to frame, organize and communicate your work and help others understand how it fits into the design process, including non-designers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Research, Human-Computer Interaction Design or other relevant field

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in applying a variety of research methods from core customer research to formal usability testing to co-design sessions and design sprints
  • Advocate for UX research and an interest in teaching others how to use research
  • Ability to provide consultative feedback to teams in service of them conducting rapid feedback sessions
  • Experience with online remote research tools
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present work to large groups
