Texas Health Rockwall is seeking a House Supervisor - PRN Nights with strong communication skills who will be responsible for promoting the safe delivery of patient care for the well-being of all patients throughout the organization. The House Supervisor will plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate all intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities; and is the designated on-site hospital administrator in off-shift hours.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Represent hospital administration after hours and on weekends
  2. Collaborative relationships with nursing administration, department leadership, general nursing and department staff
  3. Facility rounding frequently and consistently
  4. Collaboration on and resolution of patient and caregiver needs
  5. Responds to emergency, rapid response and clinically complex events
  6. Serves as a clinical leader during emergencies
  7. Resource allocation
  8. Bed utilization and tracking
  9. Responds to patient, visitor, physician and staff concerns
  10. Mediation of conflicts
  11. Responds to staffing needs and concerns
  12. Serves as employee health after hours and on weekends
  13. Other responsibilities include: assessment of all requests for administrator-on-call contact during shift; development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures, as well as making suggestions for revision of same.
Requirements include:
  1. Bachelors Degree nursing preferred
  2. 5 years experience as a clinical nurse with additional leadership experience as a charge nurse, preceptor, etc
  3. 3 years emergency or critical care nursing
  4. RN upon hire
  5. ACLS, BCLS and Crisis Prevention Intervention training
Requires knowledge of Federal and State regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations. Cognitive and technical knowledge and ability to progressively manage care delivery across the continuum of care. The ability to retrieve, communicate and present data and information both verbally and in writing required; as is the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written work. Must be flexible with work scheduling. Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.
