Terran Orbital Corporation is on the lookout for an experienced Sr. Spacecraft Electrical Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team in Irvine, CA. As a Sr. Spacecraft Electrical Integration Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, working within a multidisciplinary team to develop groundbreaking spacecraft solutions for both internal and external clients. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate closely with our spacecraft design team to develop electrical system requirements, architecture, and subsystem designs for spacecraft missions. Your role will involve handpicking the right components, designing cutting-edge electrical interfaces, and ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Be the go-to expert for identifying and resolving technical issues related to electrical system integration. Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve problems during critical testing and launch preparations.
  • Coordinate effectively with spacecraft design engineers, system engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems. Your technical expertise and guidance will be instrumental in supporting team members, while your clear communication will keep everyone informed about integration progress and any challenges that arise.
  • Uphold the highest standards of quality assurance to guarantee the reliability and safety of electrical systems. Play a vital role in design reviews, audits, and inspections to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Take the lead in identifying requirements, designing, and modifying detailed harness schematics to integrate a wide range of electromechanical components and units.

Qualifications and Skills 

  • BS or MS in Engineering discipline or equivalent degree.
  • Experience with reviewing system requirements and identify the various sub-systems and interaction.
  • Experience with system assembly, test, and support.
  • Ability to identify system wire harness requirements and create, draw, release schematics and wire list data packages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Differentiators 

  • Understand vehicle-level systems engineering including communications, functionality trade-offs, grounding, and EMC strategies.
  • Hands on experience with wire harness manufacture and installation for space applications.  Satellite experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD and PLM software.
  • Familiarity with IPC, Industry standards requirements and acceptance.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.

Salary Range: $125,000-$175,000 

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands 
An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. Work Environment 
The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
