Your Role:

Tenable is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Tenable Vulnerability Database team (Research).  This position will involve building and maintaining our framework for automated ingestion of vulnerability intelligence. 

Your Opportunity:

  • Help to solve real-world customer problems, as well as contributing to innovation in different shapes and forms. This team plays an integral and essential role within our Tenable Research department and Tenable’s products, and is actively expanding so we can continue to drive innovation and make an impact on our products & customers.
  • Collaborate closely with highly-talented engineers whose backgrounds and expertise span across several different areas and interests. You will have a chance to learn from your job daily as well as those around you. Specifically, you will:

    • Develop and maintain an automated system for generating and validating content for Tenable products
    • Support a DevOps / CICD software delivery model
    • Analyze current workflows and suggest, design and implement improvements
    • Actively collaborate with other teams in an Agile development environment
    • Incrementally improve the quality of our offerings, data and services
    • Contribute to API and UI services

What You'll Need:

  • 2+ years of software development experience in Python
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or directly related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Must have a strong initiative and the ability to work both in a self-directed manner and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A security-focused development attitude
  • Disciplined focus on roadmap contribution and execution, willingness to shift priorities as needed
  • Understanding of the full software development life cycle (SDLC): requirements analysis, design, estimation, development, quality control and unit testing

 And Ideally:

  • Experience with the following (included but not limited to): AWS, PostgreSQL, Jenkins, Datadog, Splunk, Sentry.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD process and tools for building, testing and delivering quality software in a scalable fashion
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and code review
  • Cybersecurity experience preferred but not mandatory

The base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $133,333.33 USD. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance.
