Senior Localization Engineer - Remote

Your Role:

As a Senior Localization Engineer, you will support our mission to deliver global products and content to Tenable customers in their local language. This is an exciting, future-facing opportunity for an enthusiastic senior localization engineer to grow the level of localization maturity at Tenable, with excellent career potential. You will take up a pivotal role collaborating and guiding web, development and research engineering teams, driving and implementing a solid globalisation engineering strategy. Your role will be both hands-on and strategic, designing, engineering and automating Tenable localization pipeline systems and processes, accelerating the delivery of localised content to our customers worldwide. You will be able to shape and build your own role, adding management and leadership skills as you develop a growing support team of contractors and internal team members in the coming years.

Your Opportunity:

  • Operationalise the Tenable localization hub through highly automated, end-to-end localization workflows.

    • Continuously integrate Tenable’s TMS (XTM) with localization pipeline systems, closely collaborating with development and research teams for software, documentation, sales, marketing, e-learning, web and any new content
    • Maintain high system hygiene 
    • Develop and program required pre- and post-processing middleware and additional localization components as required, to suit our evolving infrastructure
    • Modify and apply code to source file formats to suit internationalisation requirements
    • Strategise and evolve the Tenable website localization approach from a technical and tooling perspective
    • Build our product (software) localization strategy from the ground up
    • Periodically review and adjust the entire translation hub strategy and and system choice, strategise with a 3-5 year view.
  • Internationalisation

    • Advise content and software development teams on internationalisation development principles required to efficiently deliver and support our international customers. ​​​
    • Make practical code modifications as required to support internationalisation as part of specific projects

  • Optimise globalisation data reporting 

    • Build data reporting on throughputs, timeliness, efficiency, quality and cost.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience implementing a comprehensive localization pipeline across a number of different content & product types
  • Solid under-the-hood skills configuring TMS systems, XTM preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to write code to connect TMS systems with industry-relevant source content repositories and other components as part of the delivery pipeline
  • Development skills in Java, REST and SOAP API, XML, Regular Expressions, Node.js, Docker, comfortable with Linux command line
  • Solid understanding of general and practical skills with a number of general software source code formats and their internationalisation readiness
  • Web application development systems (e.g. Drupal, and/or experience with Proxy systems such as Easyling)
  • Building of localization metrics reports using proprietary or industry-relevant tools (e.g. Tableau, or other relevant tools)
  • Understanding of AWS 
  • Machine translation systems experience (as plug-in to TMS)
  • Nice to have: Ability to operate effectively using PM tools like JIRA and/or Asana
  • Strategic planning and technical program management skills
  • Self-managing and motivated to build excellence from the ground up
  • Proactive, both program and engineering focused. Leans in to advise on solution for best business outcome
  • Flexible, with a view to changing direction based on shifting priorities
  • Innovative and in tune with industry trends in relation to localization automation
