OVERVIEW

The Director, Revenue Cycle Services, is a key leader within our organization and is responsible for strategic planning, direction, and management of the operational activities for their assigned teams ensuring a compliant, effective, and streamlined operational experience for both Tegria RCM and our clients. The Director’s success is measured by the organization’s ability to provide high quality services while meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA), improving client performance, increased use of resources and adaptation of new proven technologies to increase efficiency, drive revenue cycle processes and cost saving initiatives. The leader in this role actively contributes to the overall company operational targets as well as the daily business decisions.

*This position may have oversight for specific areas of revenue cycle operations (i.e., Insurance Services, Patient Solutions) or over several areas of operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop revenue cycle strategy and establish metric driven approach to managing revenue cycle functions, report on performance, and analyze data and KPIs to ensure functions are operating at maximum efficiency.
  • Develop strategies across all functional departments to accelerate cash collections and reduce bad debt write-offs.
  • Monitors Key Performance Indicators. Follows through by monitoring qualitative and quantitative performance to ensure achievement of targeted financial goals.
  • Directs the development of tactical plans and operating budgets to achieve strategic goals; monitor progress toward goals throughout the year.
  • May assist with managing offshore programs to support operational functions.
  • Analyzes identified problems to determine cause and desired resolution; takes steps necessary to implement resolution. Solves escalated problems related to their areas of assignment and maintains a working knowledge of functions in these areas.
  • Maintains excellent patient, physician, and payer relationships through a proactive customer service-oriented approach. 
  • oversee and assign day-to-day tasks and guide teams through issue escalations and client interactions, as well as meet with clients directly to cultivate long-term relationships.
  • Partners with other operational leadership on process improvement, training, analytics, and compliance.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are current and enforced, business practices are compliant, and a high level of patient and client satisfaction is maintained.
  • Analyzes cash and/or aging variances and provides explanations and work plan to address shortfalls.
  • Achieve annual budgeted revenue and expense targets for each client managed.
  • May oversee billing and collections, ensuring compliance with established policies and Tegria RCM procedures.
  • Establish a working relationship with the client and act as a liaison to ensure their expectations are met and any requests for information are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Provides metrics and reports to monitor and track the status of operations.
  • Provide strong, dynamic leadership that mentors, develops, and guides team members to efficiently leverage maximum net revenue to clients.
  • Development and administration of annual department budget to attain business goals with operational stability.
  • Deliver results against a defined scope of work that includes measurable ROI, strategic innovation, performance reporting, and human capital development.
  • Maintain effective internal and external Quality Assurance (QA) programs fostering continuous improvement and exceeding Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance.
  • Develop and maintain effective organization of responsibility, including efficient recruiting, training, coaching, recognition, workflow patterns, performance standards, delineation of duties and responsibilities, staffing levels and supervision.
  • Coordinate analytic, strategic, and technical resources to meet client expectations.
  • Manage and expand client and coworker relationships.
  • Assist with finding new revenue opportunities within the existing client base.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible management experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle operations.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role as manager or above, leading teams to improve processes around all revenue cycle functions.
  • Proven ability to build a successful team by identifying, recruiting, developing, and retaining first-class talent at all levels while inspiring and motivating teams to achieve the highest levels of quality delivery.
  • Strong experience in judgment, influence, and the ability to work under pressure in a calm, professional manner.
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Effective analytical skills, talent management, financial planning and analysis, budget, and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent facilitation skills, and the ability to build consensus, and put a strong emphasis on responsibility and accountability.
  • Experience developing and managing an offshore program to support operations functions.
  • Hands on knowledge and in-depth experience across RCM functions, KPIs and understanding of upstream and downstream end-to-end RCM functions.
  • Strong computers skills to include Microsoft Office
