The Role  

The Senior Analyst, Digital Solutions is a pivotal role at Acclara, tasked with leveraging technology and analytics to optimize revenue cycle operations for physician group clients. This individual will partner closely with IT, operations management, and client services to develop, implement, and manage cutting-edge digital solutions that drive efficiency and maximize cash collections. The role involves a significant focus on writing queries, business rule development, data analytics, and IT project management to support internal and client operations.  

What You’ll Do  

  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions, business intelligence tools, and IT projects that support revenue cycle management.
  • Analyze existing workflows and develop new models to enhance system and people processes, focusing on automation and efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary system administrator for one or more information systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date configuration.
  • Plan, implement, and manage projects across a complex matrix organization, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Develop, test, and deploy complex business rules into process automation systems, using tools like Excel, SQL, and data cubes.
  • Create ad-hoc queries and reports using SQL Server and Microsoft Excel to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, training, and support to end users and stakeholders.
  • Manage client relationships, identify additional service opportunities, and ensure the delivery of excellent, timely services.
  • Perform root-cause analysis to identify issues driving denial and payment variance patterns and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to transform current business practices through creative technology solutions.
  • Work closely with engineers and product management teams to define and prioritize product features and functionalities, acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop, test, and deploy complex business rules into the organization's internal Business Rules Management System (BRMS), leveraging it as a central control mechanism for workflow automation and optimization. Continuously monitor, evaluate, and refine these rules to ensure they effectively support operational efficiencies, compliance, and the strategic objectives of the revenue cycle process.
  • Fine-tune billing software configurations to ensure medical claims are processed efficiently, minimizing rejections and denials while maximizing timely payments.
  • Champion the automation of revenue cycle processes, leveraging technology to reduce manual efforts and increase accuracy.
  • Lead and manage the migration of data and processes from old software platforms to new, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and continuity of data integrity.
  • Collaborate with IT to manage Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions, including claims (837), electronic remittances (835), claim status inquiries, and eligibility verifications, to streamline and improve the revenue cycle process.
  • Act as the primary liaison with technical vendors, managing relationships, and ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) and deliverables meet organizational needs and standards.

What We’re Looking For  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management or revenue cycle technology, with a focus on IT systems and process improvement.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects in the healthcare revenue cycle space.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, billing software, and other healthcare IT platforms.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing systems, coding procedures (ICD-10, CPT, etc.), and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, Business Intelligence tools) and knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) for automating tasks and analyzing data.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for revenue cycle improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to propose and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in leading project teams and driving initiatives.
  • Understanding of payment processing solutions, patient financing options, and credit card processing within the healthcare context.

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Certifications:
    • Relevant professional certifications, such as Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), or Project Management Professional (PMP), are highly desirable.
  • Innovation and Strategy:
    • Experience in strategic planning and implementation of new technologies or processes to enhance revenue cycle operations.
    • Ability to stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to recommend innovative solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Experience working directly with hospitals and physician groups, understanding their unique challenges, and tailoring solutions to meet their needs.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Experience in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with IT teams, finance departments, and healthcare providers to ensure alignment and support organizational objectives.

Pay Range: $60,000 - $110,000 

This compensation range is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay Acclara in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Acclara may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
