Compensation:                     $91,200 - $164,000 

Overview

The RCM Consulting Manager is responsible for providing support to all departments within the Revenue Cycle including Patient Access, Revenue Integrity, HIM, Coding, and Patient Accounting. This position is an opportunity for a detailed, self-motivated, organized individual to support these departments and provide value to the greater organization.  You will help share your application knowledge internally, mentor others as needed, escalate issues, and generally ensure the success of projects and the department.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide leadership to teams working with multiple payors, across multiple states and various information systems across a multitude of projects.
  • Ensure team is high functioning and efficient and will suggest process improvements as needed
  • Assist the Revenue Cycle team with aid and guidance while removing roadblocks that imped processes
  • Interface with clients to ensure long term relationships
  • Generates revenue cycle dashboard, reporting and analytics used to monitor and optimize performance, productivity, and revenue.
  • Creates an underlying reporting structure that is dynamic and maintainable, and can be expandable over time
  • Develops metrics that can be rolled up from individual staff to department to hospital to overall system
  • Other duties as assigned                                                                                   

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with preference in healthcare administration, or equivalent combination education and work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in Revenue cycle (not necessarily management) or healthcare provider environment
  • Solid leadership style and must have led at least a small team
  • PFS, patient access or patient accounts experience
  • SQL and Epic reporting amongst other systems to provide metrics and data
  • Critical-thinking, reasoning, problem-solving skills and adaptability to change an absolute must
  • Meaningful statistics as a stand-out performer
  • Project Management, follow through, time-management and prioritization imperative
  • Capability to identify problems and issue and provide solutions with a forward-thinking attitude
  • Understanding of payer policies and competency to interpret explanation of benefits
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within an ambiguous environment
  • Technical aptitude and proven track record of learning new systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of detail and confidentiality

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Prior consulting experience
  • Epic certification
  • Data Analytics/Software background with experience in a variety of technologies (Tableau, Power BI, Excel)
  • Possess good knowledge of healthcare industry standard metrics (e.g., HFMA, NAHAM, etc.) Healthcare Financial Management Association, National Association of Healthcare Access Management)
