Position Summary:
Key activities include generating qualified leads, developing an understanding of customer needs and how to best address them, create lasting relationships with prospective clients, and provide detailed estimates with proposals for specified and negotiated work. This role requires customer development, along with identifying and qualifying opportunities. Responsible providing accurate bids and follow up to those clients identified by the sales vice president as suitable prospects.
Job Functions:
- Cultivate new and existing relationships with industrial and commercial building owners and facility managers.
- Knowledge and ability to communicate the Company’s strengths and value propositions as the preferred provider of roof solutions.
- Maintain technical and field knowledge of a variety of roof systems and repair alternatives as roof solutions primarily in the existing building environment.
- Analyze and diagnose customers’ roofing needs matched to appropriate roof system alternatives including replacement, repair and preventative maintenance.
- Create cost budgets for various roof solutions and proposals to effectively present to owner’s representatives.
- Drafts proposal for General Contractors, private clients, and other customers.
- Analyzes blueprints and other documentation to prepare bids and estimates.
- Consults with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Attendance and participation at weekly sales meetings.
- Regular tracking and reporting of weekly activities.
- Responsible for handing off all proper documentation including estimate by cost codes, scope of work, and man hours, ensure all costs within bid are accurate and provide detailed project information to the operations team should we be awarded the project.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 to 7 years of selling experience in roofing, construction or a related field.
- Proven knowledge of and ability to execute the sales process with a strong profit orientation.
- Ability to understand both technical and financial aspects of construction operations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members.
- Advanced written and verbal presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Roofing industry knowledge or experience.

Working Conditions:
Physical surroundings: Office and field environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature as well as exposure to typical hazards of jobsite, including ladders, construction materials, etc.
Physical Effort: Extensive sitting, standing, walking. Repetitive keying, typing. Occasional lifting not to exceed twenty-five pounds.
Travel: minimal
Hours: Not subject to overtime
