Position Overview:
The Service Manager is responsible for leading the Service department’s day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest level of customer service and workmanship for all clients. The Service Manager leads employees, manages the department’s sales and service and maintains department profitability.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day departmental responsibilities including schedules, generating service tickets, communication with field staff and developing relationships with clients.
- Provide consistent and effective leadership to the Service department with a focus on employee development and growth.
- Develop, sell, estimate and bid work.
- Review contracts and proposals to verify intended scope of work, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and company profitability.
- Partner with Marketing and sales departments to develop sales leads, increase sales and promote our company’s services.
- Regularly conduct jobsite visits to ensure projects are compliant with customer and company expectations.
- Identify and resolve departmental issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure service billings are processed timely and assist in the collection of past due accounts receivable for all service-related work.
- Comply with company safety standards to promote a safe and clean working environment.
- Coordinate jobsite inspections.
- Attend internal and external meetings as needed.
- Hire, train and develop Service department staff.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Commercial roofing industry experience, 5+ years (required).
- Managerial/Supervisory experience, 2+ years (required).
- Solid understanding of various commercial roofing systems and manufacturers including TPO, PVC, modified and built up.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents, job specifications, technical procedures and/or government regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors and coworkers.
- Ability to climb ladders and visit commercial roof sites.
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs. regularly, 50+ lbs. on occasion.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout assigned territory. Air travel may be required <10%.
- High school diploma required. College coursework preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature as well as exposure to typical hazards of jobsites including climbing ladders, construction materials, etc. Exposure to heights, noise and varying temperatures.
- Extensive sitting, standing, bending, standing, walking all expected activities. Ability to climb ladders and lift more than 25 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. on occasion.
- Travel: Mostly local; within 1 hour. Occasional air travel required.

Compensation: Starting at $80,000; DOE
