POSITION SUMMARY:

Schwickert’s Tecta America is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an HVAC-R Service/Install Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience in commercial HVAC-R systems while working alongside experienced technicians and learning the skills needed to build a career in the HVAC-R trade. The intern will have opportunities to assist with installation, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC-R systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist HVAC-R technicians with troubleshooting and repair of commercial HVAC-R equipment.
• Assist with installation of commercial HVAC-R systems, ductwork, specialty equipment, and start-up.
• Assist with regular maintenance and cleaning of commercial HVAC units.
• Learn and follow proper HVAC-R installation, service, safety procedures, tools, and equipment under the direction of experienced technicians.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Participate in hands-on training and other learning opportunities related to the HVAC-R trade.
• Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Currently enrolled in or interested in pursuing HVAC-R, mechanical, or related technical training preferred.
• Previous construction, mechanical, or HVAC-R experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to learn and take direction from experienced technicians and crew foremen.
• Strong interest in developing a career in the HVAC-R trade.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.
• Willingness to obtain EPA certification as required.
• No fear of heights.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, bend, kneel, and work in various positions.

Starting pay is $20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
